Cold burnishing

Cold burnishing is a manual process used to protect against the oxidation of the tin/silver-soldered barrels of firearms or of other parts that are unsuited to hot burnishing.

The cold burnishing process is carried out over several phases that can take as long as a week to complete.

Like hot burnishing, cold burnishing yields a classic black gunmetal effect.
